Behaviour Management
Our Behaviour Management Processes ensure consistency with
our values and beliefs about learning.
Classroom Behaviour
Each classroom establishes expectations and negotiates rules under
which they operate. These are displayed in the classroom for easy
reference and a copy is sent home to all parents. Teachers use classroom
positives as a way to reinforce and build positive behaviour by
students. Teachers discuss the type and process to be used with
their class. Logical consequences are negotiated with students for
inappropriate behaviour.
A Step Process is used for students who demonstrate persistent and
serious inappropriate behaviour. Each step has an associated action
that is to provide direction and time to students to help them consider
their behaviour and to make choices that support their learning
and the learning of others.
Yard Behaviour
Students who follow the schools CARE rules (caring for one another,
our school and our environment) are positively rewarded each week
with an additional 10 minutes recreational play (Rec-Time) on Fridays.
If students show uncaring behaviour they are issued with a white
slip and spend 5 minutes in time out from play.
If students display aggressive behaviour they are issued with a
green slip, leave the play area immediately and are supervised in
a teaching space where students receive a "think sheet"
and receive counselling from the supervising teacher. On Fridays
these students miss "Rec-Time", and receive further counselling
from Senior Staff and rostered teachers.
School Uniform
A dress code applies at Golden Grove Primary. Plain navy and red
colours are worn at all times. A broad brimmed or legionnaire hat
are worn in terms 1 & 4.
Harassment & Grievance Procedures
At Golden Grove Primary we have a zero tolerance to harassment.
Children are supported to use widely known Harrassment & Grievance
Procedures in the event harassment should occur.
